Markus G. Scott-Alexander, PhD, REAT is a leader in the field of phenomenological expressive arts education with a focus on intermodal, cross-cultural art-making, exploring how every individual can be included in the building of an ensemble. He is the founder and director of World Arts Organization offering online expressive arts courses as well as supervision, and the creator of the growing global collective at Expressive Arts Without Borders.

Markus has co-facilitated many international community-art gatherings with the late expressive arts pioneer, Paolo Knill. Originally from New York, Markus now now resides in Edmonton, Canada with his wife. Markus is the author of Expressive Arts Education and Therapy: Discoveries in a Dance Theatre Lab through Creative Process-based Research (2020), and his latest book, The Just Right Next: Meditations on the Art of Mindfulness.

Through World Arts Organization (WAO), Markus trains professionals in the work of integrating the arts into various fields including therapy, education, social work and conflict transformation.

World Arts Organization provides one to three year certificate programs.
